Duration of study at the BNTU is 5 years that includes learning a specialty (engineering qualification). After getting qualification a student can continue his/her education at Master courses with a duration of 1 year.

Language of Teaching

Majority of the courses are taught in good English. Some courses taught only in Russian are marked on the degree programs or tuition fees tabs. Languages on the street are mainly English and Russian

For admission to the University, an applicant must submit a certified, notarized copy of the following documents.

 

Foundation/Preparatory School / Course / Program

Applicants who don’t have English proficiency results are given a simple (street conversation level) English test. Those who fail are given English course for one or two semesters before they start the main courses. Also, applicants who have deficiency course (not enough of the prerequisite courses) are also giving such courses before they start their main program.

 

English Proficiency Documents / Requirements 

Like most international universities, the BNTU requires foreign students to produce a certificate of English Language proficiency. Nevertheless, it is not a mandatory requirement for international students from English-speaking countries to have this certificate.

Below are the criteria: (anyone below)

  •         An IELTS average score of about 5.0
  •         An internet-based test score of at least 40 in TOEFL.
  •         The Pearson Test of English Academic of at least 38.
  •         A Senior High School leaving certificate or equivalent certificate with English the language of instruction.
  •         A higher education or degree no shorter than 2 years duration, in which English is the main language of instruction.

As a recognized international education institution, the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) is well known for the quick, reliable and stress-free admission process. Which has been put in place to ensure international students can quickly secure placement and enjoy the remaining of their stay during the entirety of their course at the BNTU.

Admission procedures are in two (2) main steps:

1. Pre-admission Procedure for International Students

For admission to the University, an applicant must fill, and submit an application form and letter to the Belarusian National Technical University.

  • National Passport with Belarusian Entry Visa issued according to the specified procedure;
2. Post Admission Procedures for International Students.

Post-admission procedures involve the following:

  • After admission, foreign students must obtain a Belarusian entry visa in accordance to the specified procedure.
  • You should apply for the temporary registration in Belarus (Residence Permit).

To obtain a residence permit or registration foreign students are to expected to submit the following documents to the Foreign Student Service (room 130 or 131):

  • Registration Form (filled in);
  • Passport with Student Visa;
  • Migration Card;
  • 3 photos;
  • Medical Insurance (to be purchased at room 130);
  • Dormitory Pass;
  • Receipt of payment for registration.

You will receive a certificate instead of your passport for the time of the registration procedure.

Tertiary programs at the BNTU are geared towards training specialists with fundamental and special knowledge and skills.

Duration of study is 4-6 years. Classes last from September, 1 until June, 30. The curriculum includes theoretical and applied disciplines, practical training and independent study.

After graduation, a student is awarded a specialist’s certificate is the field of study.

Main Airport: Minsk National Airport is the main international airport in Belarus, located 42 km to the east of the capital Minsk, lying in the geographic territory of Smalyavichy Raion but administratively under the authority of the Kastrychnitski District of Minsk. 

Please inform us of your flight ticket date of travel and arrival (3 days before departure) the visa and the date of arrival.

Airlines: For arrival to Minsk you can use airline companies such as “Belavia”, “Aeroflot”, “Lufthansa” or other airlines with destination Moscow – Minsk

Visa and Invitation

For invitation, an international candidate needs to have submitted copies of education documents, passport and legalized translation of all these documents during the application and admission process.

As foreigners would expect, it will also be required by the immigration department that travelers and international students have in their possession a Belarusian Entry Visa, original invitation and original education documents.

 

Do You Need a Visa?

Travel with Visa — Visa for study is issued in the Consular Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus at the place of residence of a foreign citizen.

Travel without Visa — If the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus is not in your country of residence visa can be obtained at the consular office of the national airport Minsk.

The university will send an official invitation to study at the consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of residence of a foreign applicant (for visa countries) and a letter to inform the applicant (for visa-free countries).

 

Education Requirements for Student Visa

In order to study in Belarus, you must have completed a secondary level education and be in possession of a leaving certificate that confirms that you are eligible to apply for university.

Additionally, if you wish to be accepted for postgraduate studies in Belarus, you will need to present an undergraduate diploma from a Belarusian institution or an overseas equivalent. You must present a notarized copy of your foreign certificate. 

 

Visa Requirements & Documents

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied by their translation into Russian. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

In order to apply for a student visa in Belarus, you will need to submit several documents. These documents include:

The following documents are to be submitted:

1. One duly completed visa application form

2. One photograph, which meets the following requirements:

  • not older than 6 months
  • size 35×45 mm
  • full face (70-80 % of the picture) without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for ethnic or religious reasons
  • plain, evenly lit and light background
  • high resolution
  • no corrugation or ink is allowed

3. A valid original passport or travel document which

  • contains a photograph of the owner
  • has at least two blank pages intended for visas
  • is valid for at least 90 days after the expected departure date from the Republic of Belarus
  • is not dubious in terms of authenticity or ownership
  • contains no torn pages, marks, entries, erasures and corrections that are not certified by the issuing authorities of the respective foreign state

4. An original letter of invitation from an organization/educational institution, verified by the local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for a period specified in the invitation.

5. Additional documents

  • if the applicant is under 18 years old – a copy of Birth Certificate and copies of passports of the applicant’s parents (legal representatives)
  • if the applicant previously had Russian or Belarusian citizenship, a document certifying the loss of the Russian or Belarusian citizenship must be submitted to the Embassy

 

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in Belarus will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice. You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in Belarus.

Yes, you can work but about 90% of countries don’t give student work permits… However, students can work informally and part-time… But all governments and university do not expect students to depend on their possible employment to pay for their tuition and accommodation…

In fact, it not ever possible for students to study full-time each semester and work as well and yet be able to earn enough for their tuition fees and accommodation… Not possible…

They might be able to depend on their possible work for living expense but never for tuition and accommodation…

They can’t study and still earn enough for those kinds of stuff (unless they have their own businesses).
