Studying abroad in China is way cheaper than studying in USA, UK, France, Germany, etc. However, it is still studying abroad and it more expensive than studying in your home country. When deciding to study abroad, there are many costs students must consider as they make their budgets. These mainly include:

Cost of SWUFE Accommodation

On-campus dormitory cost between $75  to $120 per month.  Students are expected to deposit the amount of $1000/person in cash.

 

Dormitories and Accommodation

There are two main on-campus dormitories that are located at the Boxue# 2, Guanghua Campus and Shensiyuan #A, Liuiin Campus. Students can, however, find very affordable off-campus accommodations too.

Visa and Admission

For admission, an international candidate needs to have submitted copies of education documents, passport and legalized translation of all these documents during the application and admission process.

As foreigners would expect, it will also be required by the immigration department that travelers and international students have in their possession an Entry Visa before flying to China, along with the original invitation and original education documents.

The university will send an official invitation to study at the consular office of the Republic of China at the place of residence of a foreign applicant (for visa countries) and a letter to inform the applicant (for visa-free countries).

 

Do You Need a Visa?

Travel without Visa — In order to study in China, you will need to legalize your stay in the territory of the Republic of China. If you are a citizen of China or live in a country that can travel to China without a visa, then travel without a visa to China applies to you. For more information and further clarification, please contact us. In addition, visas are not required for holders of the United Nations “laissez-passer.”

Travel with Visa — If you are a non-Chinese citizen, you will need to obtain a visa at a Chinese consulate in your home country before your arrival in China. Once you have arrived in China, you will need to apply and obtain a residence permit before your visa expires in order to prolong your stay.

 

Education Requirements for Student Visa

Student visa to come study in China is easy to obtain. You apply for a Chinese student visa from the closest Chinese embassy to you.

  • Once you have your admission letter
  • confirmation letter from the university
  • and has provided documents requested by the embassy.

There is no reason to reject your student visa application. In all our dealings, our students have never been rejected visa. But we have heard of a few students (not our own) who were rejected because they didn’t get the documents needed. But when they reapplied, it was granted them.

 

Visa Requirements & Documents

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied by their translation into English. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

In order to apply for a student visa to study in China, you will need to submit several documents. These documents include:

  1. 6 months validity on passport — An International Passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months after the expiry of your visa. N:B: Your passport must have at least two unused pages for entry/departure visa endorsements.

2. Photocopy of passport (all pages)

3. Filled visa application form online or provided by the embassy (varies in each country)

4. A proof of the visa application fee payment (An original receipt).

5. A passport picture with white background (have at least two more copies just in case).

6. Admission and acceptance letter by the university (for student visa applicants).
A letter from your employer outlining the reason for your visit, who you will be meeting and details of any payment/expenses (for work visa applicants).
Letter of Invitation (for visitor visa applicants).
Travel Itinerary (for tourist visa applicants).

7. Payment receipts of school fees usually from the bank (or email of the transaction if you paid online)

8. Confirmation letter from the University acknowledging receipt of payment

9. Proof of basic educational qualification, etc, diploma, certificate and SSCE (IGCSE/A LEVEL/WAEC/NECO) signed and approved by the ministry of education.

10. A copy of certificate incorporation of the sponsor. (Only if the student is using a company bank statement of account).

11. Original approval reference letter from the bank branch manager.

12. Bank statement (maximum 3 months old) — Financial documents to provide that you can financially sustain yourself in China. Yours or that of a close relative or from your sponsoring company or government.

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in China will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice.

You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in China; minimum charge for this insurance is $45.

This is the rule for students studying abroad…

Yes, you can work but about 90% of countries don’t give student work permits… However, students can work informally and part-time… But all governments and university do not expect students to depend on their possible employment to pay for their tuition and accommodation…

In fact, it not ever possible for students to study full-time each semester and work as well and yet be able to earn enough for their tuition fees and accommodation… Not possible…

They might be able to depend on their possible work for living expense but never for tuition and accommodation…

They can’t study and still earn enough for those kinds of stuff (unless they have their own businesses).
