Language of Teaching

Courses are taught in both English and Turkish. Some courses are taught exclusively in Turkish and would require students to learn the language before beginning their program. Although Turkish is the main language of communication in Turkey, lots of people are also fluent in English.

Visa and Admission

For admission, an international candidate needs to have submitted copies of education documents, passport and legalized translation of all these documents during the application and admission process.

As foreigners would expect, it will also be required by the immigration department that travelers and international students have in their possession an Entry Visa before flying to Turkey, along with original invitation and original education documents.

The university will send an official invitation to study at the consular office of the Republic of Turkey at the place of residence of a foreign applicant (for visa countries) and a letter to inform the applicant (for visa-free countries).

 

Do You Need a Visa?

Travel without Visa — In order to study in Turkey, you will need to legalize your stay in the territory of the Turkey. If you are a citizen of Turkey or live in a country that can travel to Turkey without visa, then you can travel to Turkey without a visa. For more information and further clarification, please contact us.

Travel with Visa — If you are a non-Turkish citizen, you will need to obtain a visa at a Turkish consulate in your home country before your arrival in the country. Once you have arrived in Turkey, you will need to apply and obtain a residence permit before your visa expires in order to prolong your stay.

 

Education Requirements for Student Visa

Student visa to come study in Turkey is easy to obtain. You apply for a student visa from the closest Turkish embassy to you.

  • Once you have your admission letter
  • confirmation letter from university (proof of payment of first tuition fees)
  • and have provided documents requested by the embassy.

There is no reason to reject your student visa application. In all our dealings, our students have never been rejected visa. But we have heard of a few students (not our own) who were rejected because they didn’t get the documents needed. But when they reapplied, it was granted them.

 

Visa Requirements & Documents

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied by their translation into English. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

In order to apply for a student visa to study in Turkey you will need to submit several documents. These documents include:

  1. 6 months validity on passport — An International Passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months after the expiry of your visa. N:B: Your passport must have at least two unused page for entry/departure visa endorsements.
  2. Photocopy of passport (all pages)
  3. Filled visa application form online or provided by the embassy (varies in each country)
  4. A proof of the visa application fee payment (An original receipt).
  5. A 29mm x 34mm, colored passport with white background (have at least two more copies just in case).
  6. Admission and acceptance letter by the university (for student visa applicants).
    A letter from your employer outlining the reason for your visit, who you will be meeting and details of any payment/expenses (for work visa applicants).
    Letter of Invitation (for visitor visa applicants).
    Travel Itinerary (for tourist visa applicants).
  7. Payment receipts of school fees usually from bank (or email of transaction if you paid online)
  8. Confirmation letter from the University acknowledging receipt of payment
  9. Proof of basic education qualification, etc, diploma, certificate and SSCE (IGCSE/A LEVEL/WAEC/NECO) signed and approved by the ministry of education.
  10. Guarantors letter signed by the sponsor and the student, stating that sponsor will cover all the expenses of the student and the student will never apply to any person or institution (including, university) for financial support or scholarship certified notary public.
  11. A copy of certificate incorporation of the sponsor. (Only if student is using a company bank statement of account).
  12. A copy of certificate of income tax clearance of sponsor. (Only if student is using a company bank statement of account).
  13. Original approval reference letter from the bank branch manager.
  14. Bank statement (maximum 3 months old) — Financial documents to provide that you can financially sustain yourself in Turkey. Yours or that of a close relative or from your sponsoring company or government.
    These documents might include:– bank statements- proof of earnings or the financial document of a guardian in the Turkey that has sufficient resources to financially support you.
  15. (for Private medical treatment visa applicants) Letter from a doctor or consultant in Turkey showing:
    – Details of health condition
    – Cost and duration of treatment
    – Location of treatment (for Private medical treatment visa applicants).

Most of the documents cut across all the different types of Turkish Visas and some are peculiar to the visa type needed. Submitting fake documents result in an abrupt closure of the visa application, and seizing of the documents. Original documents are mandatory for your application.

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in Turkey will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice.

You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in North Cyprus; this is part of your tuition fees.

This is the rule for students studying abroad…

Yes, you can work but about 90% of countries don’t give student work permits… However, students can work informally and part-time… But all governments and university do not expect students to depend on their possible employment to pay for their tuition and accommodation…

In fact, it not ever possible for students to study full-time each semester and work as well and yet be able to earn enough for their tuition fees and accommodation… Not possible…

They might be able to depend on their possible work for living expense but never for tuition and accommodation…

They can’t study and still earn enough for those kinds of stuff (unless they have their own businesses).
