Language of Teaching

Most of the courses are taught in Russian with a few others being taught in English. Majority of people in the country speak Russian but there are a few people who understand and speak fluent English. Courses taught in Russian require students to enroll in the preparatory school to learn the language.

Undergraduates Requirements

Submit a scanned copy of valid international passport with at least 2 blank pages and a minimum of 18 months left on it before its expiry

Submit a scanned copy of original educational certificates translated to English or Russian

Submit scanned copies of your health certificate (including TB and HIV test).

Provide proof of sufficient Russian language proficiency when selecting courses taught entirely in the Russian language.

 

Masters and Ph.D. Requirements

Submit a scanned copy of your international passport

Submit scanned copies of your original certificates of higher education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or Specialist’s diploma) with full transcripts.

Although studying abroad away from your home country is usually not cheap, Lobachevsky University has made it very affordable for international students to complete their tertiary education to obtain their degree diploma and certificates.

Scholarship Amount: No scholarship offered. The yearly tuition fees are already very low and affordable. The accommodation is cheap as well.

Standard accommodation costs about 97.98 USD per semester.

Type of Housing

International students live in a comfortable dormitory, which is situated on the university campus in the immediate neighborhood of the city center. International students live in 3-bedded rooms, equipped with the necessary furniture and bedding. All rooms in the student dormitory have Internet access points. Lavatories, washrooms, and kitchens are located on each floor.

There are also classrooms on each floor of the student dormitory. There is also a student canteen, grocery stores, banks and a sports complex nearby. Round-the-clock security is provided for the maximum safety of the students.

Visa and Admission

The first stage to obtain a student visa to Russia is to acquire an invitation letter. It is also referred to as ‘visa support.’ After you secure admission in an educational institute in Russia, a letter of Invitation will be issued to you from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its Regional Office.

In case Regional Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not situated in the region where you plan to study in, an invitation letter must be issued by the University, Institute or College where you have enrolled for your course of study.

 

Do You Need a Visa?

Travel without Visa — If you are a citizen of Russia or live in a country that can travel to Russia without visa, then you can travel to Russia without a visa. For more information and further clarification, please contact us.

Travel with Visa — If you are a non-Russian citizen, you will need to obtain a visa at the Russian Embassy in your home country before your arrival in the country.

 

Education Requirements for Student Visa

Student visa to study in Russia is a simple process. You apply for a student visa from the closest Russian embassy to you.

  • Once you have your admission/invitation letter
  • and have provided documents requested by the embassy.

There is no reason to reject your student visa application. In all our dealings, our students have never been rejected visa. But we have heard of a few students (not our own) who were rejected because they didn’t get the documents needed. But when they reapplied, it was granted them.

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied by their translation into English. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

To be eligible for Russian student visa you must fulfil the following conditions:

  • You must have a valid and signed passport that has at least two blank pages
  • Your passport must have a validity that extends the duration of the visa you are applying for by at least 6 months
  • You must have a copy of your Russian visa application form, completed and signed by you
  • You must have the original letter of invitation issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or its Regional Office or the University or educational institute where you have enrolled for your course
  • You must provide certificates of your current diploma or degree or educational qualification
  • You must provide proof of tuition fee payment to the University or College or Institute where you plan to study
  • You must provide an original HIV (AIDS) Test Certificate showing a negative result. The test must be a recent one and must not have been conducted more than three months ago
  • You must display your intention to leave Russia at the end of your authorized stay

 

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in Russia will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice.

You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in Russia; this is part of your tuition fees.

Yes, you can work but about 90% of countries don’t give student work permits… However, students can work informally and part-time… But all governments and university do not expect students to depend on their possible employment to pay for their tuition and accommodation…

In fact, it not ever possible for students to study full-time each semester and work as well and yet be able to earn enough for their tuition fees and accommodation… Not possible…

They might be able to depend on their possible work for living expense but never for tuition and accommodation…

They can’t study and still earn enough for those kinds of stuff (unless they have their own businesses).
